Demolition Man (1993) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Demolition Man (1993) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

Wesley Snipes has one blue eye and one brown eye. They probably just flipped the video horizontally or something. I didn't see it so not sure what Sam saw exactly. Passenger 57 is a good action movie where Wesley Snipes is the good guy. By the way also did you notice I noticed in the beginning Snipes when he's asking where the guns are at he says "I'm sorry I would forget my head if it wasn't attached to me." And seeing that this time I was like I wonder if that is foreshadowing the end where Stallone kicks his head off his body.

Alex

Wow I totally forgot that movie existed.

Alex

I just love this movie, I saw it in the cinema in 1993 and instantly became one of my favourites! Even still now, the amount of quotes it is such a highly quotable filum, and I`ve always wondered how the hell (don`t fine me! haha) how the 3 seashells work!! All the references to 20th century stuff were brilliant and for me watching this in 1993 seeing the video call screens and thinking now we have SKype and Facetime etc and all the voice activation is sort of like Alexa we have now so yes TBR and Sam I totally agree with those things we do have now so the imagination was brilliant, and all the multi layers of comedy, action, sci fi, just everything it`s really a complete classic! "We`re police officers we`re not trained to handle this kind of violence" Hahahaa! The weird thing I experienced watching this again with you both TBR and Sam is that for some odd reason the version I watched alongside yours surprised me as I was just about to see your reaction to the whole Taco Bell thing and just as I was looking to your screen there to see how you reacted, I could suddenly hear something odd which is this version I was seeing tonight that was changed to PIzza Hut!!! I just thought what the actual hell hahahaa, and then they kept using Pizza Hut over the Taco Bell words and even the logo at the restaurant and even on the van that the underground dudes were raiding said Pizza Hut! Haha, maybe they had to change it for certain broadcasters and then you said at the time I was thinking that that you reckoned Taco Bell must have paid the most for sponsorship to use their name so it was very funny for me to get that difference. Man that sex scene yeah Sam I agree that was terrifying, I used that word too haha, how bizarre and I felt for poor John haha and also for Huxley there as she wasn`t used to that so just so well created and thought out. Thank you TBR and Sam, that was a truly perfect reaction as this is still one of my favourites so I was so pumped to be able to watch this alongside you both, and I reckon there are some brilliant screenshottable (is that a real word??) photos that could be grabbed from both your faces at each of those great scenes and lines, I love the buzzer fine machines too they`re just so funny and clever and yes totally agree you can just hear it go off everytime, just a genius piece of film. Take care have a good week. I don`t know if you recognised him but the Chief of Police with the glasses was the evil prison Warden in the Shawshank Redemption who blew his brains out at the end.

Andy Farmer

Cliffhanger is so good. Love that movie.

MY TOP 12 STALLONES ROCKY FIRST BLOOD ROCKY II OSCAR NIGHT HAWKS ROCKY IV ROCKY III DEMOLITION MAN TANGO & CASH COPLAND CLIFFHANGER COBRA

Jason Dolan

Haha, good business sense from Taco Bell.

Aaron Barlow

Super hyped to go on this Stallone journey,he does have a few great stand alone films,so hopefully you will be able to fit in some of those after the Rocky and Rambo's "Cliffhanger 1993,Judge Dredd 1995,Assassins 1995 and Cop Land 1997 to name but a few and of course you will love Escape Plan 2013 where Stallone and Arnold team up

Andrew

As you guessed, Taco Bell did a cross promotion with the movie. I remember they redesigned the bell logo to look "more futuristic" and they ran commercials with movie footage plus the Sandra Bullock audio saying, "now all restaurants are Taco Bell." Oh look, the internet has an old commercial of it: https://youtu.be/u8FWGt-P890

Nicotti

Plus there's more Stallone/Rob Schneider comedy in it.

Nicotti

Give Stallone daylight a watch. Good movie of his that is slept on about a nyc tunnel collapsing and he has to go in and save the survivors.

Alfredo Vias

This one, also Dredd (although i like new one, but old one was my childhood favorite) and also Cobra. Other than that i don't like anything else that much. Never was on the Rambo/Rocky hype train. Oh, and Specialist with Sharon Stone!

wroot

The explosion at the beginning was all practical. They blew that building half to hell 😃

Anakin Starkiller

Yes you have to do Cliffhanger 😀😀

Anakin Starkiller

This is a really fun movie, and I'm glad you guys checked this out. I also highly recommend "Cliffhanger" (his best, IMHO, and one of my favorite 90s action films bar none), "Cobra" & the "Rambo" films (esp the 2008 film, which you could almost watch just on its own).

Steven Montano

Well, I'd certainly vote for Unforgiven! :)

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

I second that! Dirty Harry films, Play Misty For Me, Unforgiven and tons more would all be fun on the channel.

Mike Tocci

I have, yes. The only movie that I didn't add to the list, but strongly considered, was Tango & Cash.

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

Have you seen Oscar?

Nicotti

Stallone, Arnold. both great of course. But both owe a lot to Clint Eastwood. I would love to see TBR and Sam dive into some Eastwood films.

Mitchell Smilie

(paraphrase) "Obviously we know that Sylvester Stallone has a lot of great films." Uhhh, yeah, about that... his filmography is nowhere near the quality of Schwarzenegger's, unfortunately. Rocky 1, Creed, Rambo 1, Rambo (reboot), Cop Land, Demolition Man, Cliffhanger... I'd say those are all watchable (at worst) to very good (at best.) But I'd stop there, personally.

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

I always used to get Demolition Man and that version of Judge Dread mixed up. But that's only because they both Star Stallone, who I always enjoy in the movies, and they're both fun science fiction/action films from roughly the same time.

Mike Tocci

I concur. She was great in A Time To Kill (1996) too, the adaptation of John Grisham's novel. That one also had a fantastic cast with a ton of great actors. It starred Matthew McConaughey, Samuel L. Jackson, Ashley Judd, Kevin Spacey, Patrick McGoohan, Donald Sutherland and Keifer Sutherland as well as some other recognizable faces whose names you may not know. It was a great book and the movie was pretty good too. It's a compelling legal thriller with some courtroom stuff. I definitely recommend it for a watch on the channel!

Mike Tocci

TBR/Sam, I’d suggest the Stallone version of "Judge Dredd" (1995). The comic book fans will tell you it wasn’t very true to the comic book with its comedic tones (see the 2012 “Dredd” for a more faithful version). But Stallone’s version was still a fun and well-made sci-fi action movie in its own right. Since you liked “Demolition Man”, you will enjoy it. Stallone really “licks ass" in it. 😁

Something i always wondered about….what was life like outside of San Angeles?

This was great reaction. One of my favorite movies and I am really happy that you have had such a blast watching it. On the John Spartan's daughter - I've always believed that Dr. Cocteau revealed her fate during the last conversation with Spartan saying that his whole family is dead - drawing from Huxley's reaction it seemed that she knew all along. But this article says that the scene of reunion was actually shot and later cut from the movie. There were also talks about the sequel. https://www.looper.com/214011/the-untold-truth-of-demolition-man/ Anyway, I've had a lot of fun with you and you certainly made my day. Keep it up! 🤙🏼

David Lengyel

I miss the Sandra Bullock of the 90s. If y’all have never seen Speed I highly recommend that one.

The international release was Pizza Hut. If you saw it in theaters in England I think it was Pizza Hut. If you saw in theaters in America, you see Taco Bell. Bizarre. And the Demolition Man Taco Bell logo was liked so much that it became Taco Bell's official logo lol There's a whole funny conversation about it with Cinemassacre: https://youtu.be/nMH7EK-btTo?t=804

PIG

Did they digitally alter the movie audio on Amazon or wherever you got the copy from? I have the original DVD rip and also watched it in the theater when it came out, and it always had been "Pizza Hut" - not Taco Bell. I mean the signs by the restaurant clearly showed Pizza Hut ... Taco Bell must have paid a fortune to whoever owns the movie distribution rights now

Alec S

This is one of my favorite Stallone movies! Thanks for the great reaction! I haven't seen it in ages. Will there be a sequel? Stallone himself on Instagram on May 3, 2020 (https://www.instagram.com/p/B_vnmVSpZvh/; skip to 5:46) says that they're working on it *right* *now* at Warner Bros., that it's looking fantastic, and that it looks like it's going to happen! Also, how do the 3 seashells work? https://screenrant.com/three-seashells-demolition-man-function/

Ron

Going along with your post-view remarks, the fact that this was the only movie in this world, almost seems like a creative waste :)

Sarah

This is one of my favorite action/sc-fi movies, and I’m not even a fan of action flicks.. Neat ideas, entertaining to the end, and well cast. I haven’t seen it in twenty years so I look forward to rewatching it.

PIG

As another stand alone Stallone flick, I'd really recommend "Cliffhanger"
