Also just realized you guys haven't done any Coen Brothers films - so very many GREAT options there.

2021-09-05 19:44:45 +0000 UTCDrama covers so much ground. How about dividing it up into drama subgenres - crime, period, family, political etc.

2021-09-05 19:44:05 +0000 UTCGood Will Hunting! One of the best films of all time.

2021-08-10 20:07:35 +0000 UTCYou can go wrong with The Departed in this poll. It's too new and not in the same class as the rest.
Chris
2021-08-10 16:24:45 +0000 UTCI had been thinking the same thing! Pitting "Taxi Driver" or "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" against "The Departed" - and having "The Departed" win! - yipes!

2021-08-10 14:59:53 +0000 UTCThe 1992 western “Unforgiven” directed and starring Clint Eastwood won academy awards for best picture, best director and best supporting actor for Gene Hackman, also starred Morgan Freeman and Richard Harris. From my experience watching your channel I know you’ll love this one.

2021-08-10 03:33:46 +0000 UTCI know you have a lot of titles, and I'm sure most of these are on your list already but just in case, here are some dramas! - Jackie Brown (1997), Boogie Nights (1997), Sophie's Choice (1982), Chinatown (1974), Network (1976) (more of a dark satire), Dog Day Afternoon (1975), Raging Bull (1980), The Elephant Man (1980), 12 Years A Slave (2013), There Will Be Blood (2007), Fargo (Coen Brothers - not sure how to classify this one!), Cape Fear (1991) The Right Stuff (1984) Bonnie And Clyde (1967), The Deer Hunter (1978) The Conversation (1974) All The Presidents Men (1976)

2021-08-06 17:02:40 +0000 UTCNot a bad idea. So many essential classics may not get a shot because not as many people have seen them to begin with.

2021-08-05 11:11:47 +0000 UTCOne of those classics that I've never seen.

2021-08-05 11:10:19 +0000 UTCwow, Paris, Texas sounds very interesting!

2021-08-05 03:20:36 +0000 UTCLate to this party, new patron. Please add the 1984 movie "Paris, Texas" to your list. It's on HBOMAX currently, finally watched it tonight and it was incredible. Their capsule: "An amnesiac tries to find the family he lost." That's close enough, I guess, hard to describe. Great drama. 🙂

2021-08-04 03:14:17 +0000 UTCYes! Dog Day Afternoon, directed by Sidney Lumet who brought us The Verdict, 12 Angry Men and Network - all of them must-see's.

2021-07-24 03:01:48 +0000 UTCI would love to see a reaction to Léon. One of my favorite films!
Chris
2021-07-24 02:04:14 +0000 UTCI think going forward it might be a good idea to put movies together by decade as well, since there seems to be a tilt in voting based on how new the movie is, at least in this case.
Chris
2021-07-23 21:39:08 +0000 UTCMy friend Kazzy Reacts just watched it on her channel. I think it is available at her $3 tier. It was a crazy reaction. Haha

2021-07-23 21:34:24 +0000 UTCTaxi Driver is the real masterpiece out of this list, but you can't go wrong with any of them. All great choices.

2021-07-23 08:23:17 +0000 UTCMulholland Drive is great, and such a mindbender! I've never thought of it as a drama, but don't know what else to call it.. David Lynch is his own (weird) genre!
Eric Lee

2021-07-22 02:00:56 +0000 UTCThis is how i feel. Yet I fear that Departed will win.

2021-07-21 21:44:34 +0000 UTCThese are all really good choices but A Few Good Men is a personal fave hasnt been reacted to very much, if at all.

2021-07-21 17:48:19 +0000 UTCI really like The Departed, but i haven't seen for a while anyone reacting to L.A. Confidential, so giving my vote for that :)

2021-07-21 15:37:53 +0000 UTCIt’s been added to the schedule! It was far too close on the last poll so we’ll be doing both - Eternal Sunshine & Mulholland Drive -Sam

2021-07-21 15:37:07 +0000 UTCAll amazing films. Pulling for Cuckoo's Nest!!!!!
Sean McDonough
2021-07-21 13:28:53 +0000 UTCL.A. Confidential is an incredible movie, and absolutely should have won best picture of 1997, but the Academy apparently got Kate and Leo fever and gave it to Titanic. L.A. is the only James Elroy book that’s been successfully adapted to screen, in my opinion, which is a shame because he’s a very gifted author.
Warren H
2021-07-21 13:23:20 +0000 UTCReally hope A Few Good Men pulls back to win. It would make for a great reaction (nobody reacts to it, but there are Departed reactions everywhere), and it's much more fun when it's a first-time watch for both of you!

2021-07-21 08:50:51 +0000 UTCAnother incredible Al Pacino movie (and it also stars John Cazale, aka Fredo!) is Dog Day Afternoon. It's a must!

2021-07-21 08:27:52 +0000 UTCTwo choices jumped out ahead for me, both starring Jack Nicholson, Departed and One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, both favorites of mine but for so radically different reasons. Forcing me to choose, Departed is a Scorsese masterpiece, but One Flew Over is near and dear to my heart, love that movie. Oh but then again, damn, every cinema buff absolutely needs to see Taxi Driver. That's a tough choice, they're all dark, but I personally relate more to them kooks in One Flew Over, and it's got two young actors from the show Taxi so... But whatever way the poll goes y'all eventually have to watch all three, they're all masterpieces.

2021-07-21 07:52:29 +0000 UTCTaxi Driver and Cuckoo's Nest are the best two here, by a long shot.
Mike Tocci
2021-07-21 07:45:51 +0000 UTCOne Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, because you can do Amadeus after.

2021-07-21 07:13:25 +0000 UTCOne Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is classic.

2021-07-21 06:24:58 +0000 UTCI will keep requesting Mulholland Drive until the end of days, was so close in the last poll!

2021-07-21 06:20:20 +0000 UTCI would have voted for Dead Poets, but it looks like it would just be a wasted vote,so opted for A Few Good Men too,as I would rather that over the others
Andrew
2021-07-21 06:14:30 +0000 UTCAs much as I love the other films, I'm glad A Few Good Men is in the lead. I hope it wins. It's a legendary film with incredible performances and dialogue. Aaron Sorkin is one of my favorite screenwriters.
