I find them much scarier than Michael Myers (or whomever) because they're so farcically evil and yet they're still so damn believable. He's like the perfect corporate lackey. *shudders*

2021-07-06 02:38:32 +0000 UTCI was 4 years old and my family was living 200 miles away in Ukraine when this happened. I asked my dad what it was like during the week of the event. He told me they just saw a little snippets on the news. They were never told the extent of damage.

Giving away my age, but I was in college (US) when this happened and I remember not being too concerned since it was so far away and the reports from the Soviet media downplayed the event, although the US media intimated things were worse than what was being told. So it was a shock to watch this and discover how bad it really was. I also read a book about it after watching this show, and the level of cover-ups, deceit and negligence by the Soviet government was appalling. Looking forward to the next one!
