For dramas, I'd also recommend The Departed and Sicario (though both are fairly recent, and you might have seen them).

My favorite is The Godfather and it was my pick, but I switched it to Fight Club because I think it is a great film and I wanted to give it a fighting chance. While I like The Shawshank Redemption, I do feel it has become a bit overrated. That does not mean it is not an excellent film deserving of heaps of praise for what it does so well, I just feel that people hold it in too high of a regard.

One of the few movies that no matter how many times I see it, I can't help crying like a baby multiple times lol. Hope it gets reacted to at some point
