I really enjoyed watching you guys react to this. I'm sure you figured this out by now, but the whole national anthem and few minutes of footage of Washington DC: TV stations used to go off the air at night. And a lot of them would have something like that they would play as before they turned off their transmitter. Watching this again, there are effects that are definitely dated. But a number of them hold up surprisingly well: Almost all of the practical effects were spot on. I still love the one continuous shot in the kitchen where the mom adjusts the chairs around the table, walks over to the kitchen to get something from under the sink, stands up, and turn, and all the chairs are stacked on the table.
