Does AEW have a lead producer for the shows or is it a group effort?
Well, it depends on what you mean by lead producer. It's a group effort in every company, but Pat Buck assigns the producers. These aren't rules of thumb, but if you see a squash -- Kevin Mathews handles a lot of those. Dustin Rhodes does a lot of Swerve's matches. Christopher Daniels does a lot of Young Bucks' stuff.
Any truth to the rumor that John cena was privy to the news that WWE wasn’t going to renew r-truths contract and had requested to work with him for SNME in order to save his job in WWE?
I'm sure that at some point, Ron Killings may have let him know his deal was expiring soon. However, Killings, Carlito and Valhalla were all informed the same day that their deals wouldn't be extended.
Given what he saw tonight with R Truth, is it possible that the backlash from the past week might make WWE reconsider the way they handle contract negotiations with talents. It seems like they’re trying to go the UFC route of negotiations and the r truth situation showed that that may not work in pro wrestling
Yeah I think so. They've corrected course over Blue Meanie, Daniel Bryan, Matt Hardy and now Ron Killings in the last 26 years or so. WWE is a fan service business based on scripted programming, so I think outrage over departures goes a long way.
