Added 2025-05-03 03:36:30 +0000 UTCWWE releases happened today, with a massive cut.
Shayna Baszler, Braun Strowman, Dakota Kai, Kayden Carter, Katana Chance were all released or departed the company. Unless we find out they were notified their contracts are expiring, they will have 90-day non compete clauses.
Dakota Kai already has gained the interest of outside companies and top agents in pro wrestling, as they expect her to have plenty of offers.
Shayna Baszler had helped out at NXT recently, causing a big surprise of her release. She'd re-signed with WWE last year.
NXT talent Gigi Dolin, Cora Jade, Gallus, Jakara Jackson, Eddy Thorpe, Javier Bernal, Oro Mensah, Riley Osborne were also released, and most will have 30-day non compete clauses. They'll be paid during this period and can prepare their next career moves.
Some in NXT knew Jakara Jackson's release was coming, as they split her from Lash Legend this week.

While I consider Braun & Dakota to be shockers the others I don’t wanna say I saw coming but definitely where names I looked at as real possibles. When Meta Four split up it very clear there where big plans for Noam & Lash but for Oro & Jakarta I just had a feeling they’d get cut which sucks because I think Meta Four could of been good on the main roster for both the mens & woman's tag division. When Chase U got split last year & both Duke Hudson & Bea Priesly got cut. I felt the writing was on the wall for Riley Osborn which is a shame he’s a good wrestler & when NXT did the breakout tournament last year him & Oba Femi where the two standouts. Chase U could of been a fun main roster call up. NXT mens division could of used Osborn. Shayna Bazler is someone I really like & she felt like she got damaged by the old regime booking on the main roster & outside of the Ronda feud I don’t think much effort was put in on HHH part to rehab her. PFC didn’t get over & it felt after that she was done. Best of luck to her I think she should of won the wonans title back in 2020 from Becky. Becky even wanted to put her over back then but VKM wouldn’t let it happen. Chance & Carrter while I enjoyed them as a tag team in both there NXT & main roster run I never could connect with them due to a lack of character outside of they like to party. I feel they got called up to early due to a lack of having a character & after there transitional tag title run it felt like they where dead in the water. Cora had a great look but the in ring wasn’t there & she was very injury prone. Gallus had been there for a while I thought they where solid but it seemed the company had no interest in calling them up.

2025-05-03 13:13:43 +0000 UTCI’ve seen mainly two reactions to these releases. One is WWE fans defending them & the second is people who don’t watch or like WWE just using it as an excuse to bash. I’m really in the middle of things I’ll never wish for anyone to lose there job but some of these guys & girls you look at & it feels like the writing was on the wall the only two that suprised me where Dakota Kai & Braun Strowman. Braun Strowman he genuinely feels like a shock because he was on tv fairly consistently & looking back when Braun was first released in 2021 im not going to pretend I was upset back then because WWE missed the boat on him in 2017/2018 time & he felt stale. When Triple took over creative & rehired talent like Bray Wyatt Johnny Gargano & Io Shirai I was very excited for them. When Braun got rehired I rolled my eyes but credit to him he proved me wrong. The Gunther feud was great him & Ricochet where a really fun tag team before he got hurt & in his last year in the company he really helped get over Bronson Reed & Jacob Fatu as monsters. Dakota Kai her & Io where the first two rehires of the HHH regime. I’ll be honest & say I didn’t she her as a main event talent but I thought she could of been a great upper mid card heel. I honestly think her & Io having a main roster feud over the world title could of been fun & Dakota in WWE cannon has a history of getting jealous of her friends success & turning on then. Had a couple of tag titles reigns & i do feel Damage CTRL elevated her & Io should of got a run with one of the mid card titles
