WWE European Tryout Date, several participants

We now know the date and several talent set for the WWE tryout later this month.

Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan has learned that the tryout is scheduled for March 30th, and according to multiple sources, is a smaller group than previous WWE tryouts in Europe.

Amongst those that we have confirmed that have been invited to the tryout include two talents we have previously reported that WWE were interested in, with Rhio and Man Like DeReiss both set for the tryout as of this writing. Rhio has previously tried out for WWE in the past, and DeReiss recently had a tryout for TNA.

In addition Fightful Select has learned that after his big 2024, PROGRESS World Champion Luke Jacobs has also been invited to the tryout following an appearance as part of WWE’s security team for SmackDown in Barcelona, with Goldenboy Santos also being invited following his appearance in Spain. Spanish talent Zozaya, who also featured as part of that group of extras, is also scheduled as we previously reported.

Finally, Brennan has learned from sources in the UK scene that former Love Island star Adam Maxted was invited to the tryout in addition to the other four talents previously mentioned.

One name that we have been asked about as a possibility is Michael Oku. While asking, we were told by several sources that an Oku invitation for the tryout was ‘highly unlikely’. Another prominent name that has been ruled out of the tryout is former wXw Unified World Champion Peter Tihanyi, who we are told is still recovering from a shoulder injury and is not capable of physicality.

Fightful Select will look to confirm more names for the tryout and those who attended following the event next weekend.

THIS WEEK ON LOVE ISLAND WE GO TO WWE TRYOUTS!

Any French talent maybe ?

I wonder if the tryout being unlikely is due to them knowing there isn’t interest or maybe them not necessarily even needing to see him in a tryout. Granted, the rest of these names don’t seem necessary for that either but 🤷🏻‍♂️

Completely fair assessment. I’m more of an AEW guy so I hope that’s the case, but not giving him at least a try out is interesting.

I think they probably think Oku is likely to go to AEW. He's close to Will Ospreay after all.

Imagine not inviting Michael Oku for a try out. Insane. Guy is a baller.

I think Leon Cage definitely deserves a tryout. At just 17 he's quickly established himself as a key one to watch on the British indie scene.
