What happened with Thunder Rosa, Megan Bayne, and Penelope Ford?
Added 2025-02-25 19:02:00 +0000 UTCThe February 19 episode of AEW Dynamite saw an awkward post match angle that left many confused.
Following a match with Kris Statlander, Penelope Ford got involved and helped out Bayne. Thunder Rosa made the save with a chair, and an odd series of events unfolded. Bayne and Ford’s characters looked unbothered by the situation, while Thunder Rosa held back hitting them with chairs.
Online speculation claimed that Bayne and Ford “went into business for themselves,” but the claim internally was that wasn’t the case. Those that we spoke to said it would have been a coach or producer miscommincation in not instructing the talent where to position themselves.
Sources in AEW said that the situation was discussed following the segment and none of the participants have issues working together.

2025-02-26 16:34:35 +0000 UTCLess experienced.? Penelope has been in the biz for 10 years. She doesn't under that the heels runs from the babyface save? If not, aew needs to teach her that vital information

2025-02-25 23:46:22 +0000 UTCA babyface comes out with a chair. The heels don't react at all. The babyface then motions to swing it at them so they react to it. They still dont. They even start laughing. Then 1 heel grabs the chair and they do a tug of war. Then the heels just stare some more and turn their backs to babyface with a steel chair. And aew wants us to believe it was just a "positioning" issue? And everything is great between them? I dont buy that at all. I know Thunder Rosa was done dirty. You telling me a vet like Penelope couldn't realize no selling a babyface save with a chair would look terrible? She's been in the business over 10 years.

2025-02-25 23:19:40 +0000 UTCAs a stage performer, it looked like a blocking issue in the ring. Made sense to me. Maybe TR knew the blocking was off, which is why Ford and Bayne they didn't dive out of the ring, into ring crew, etc.

2025-02-25 22:15:58 +0000 UTCWhat’s weird to me is that Rosa didn’t swing the chair or tell them get out. Once it was fucked up the only way to save it was for Rosa to step up and tell the less experienced girls what to do or make a business decision and use the chair somehow.
Need a girl to give me head in the Frankensteiner Position
2025-02-25 20:40:15 +0000 UTCMy problem is fighting over the chair...wtf was that? Was that a shoot or planned?

2025-02-25 20:39:09 +0000 UTCIt was probably one of those things where they were in the wrong place, and then Ford and Bayne made the wrong decision to try and look strong once the fuck up happened. Sometimes things compound and make things look worse than they are.

2025-02-25 20:38:39 +0000 UTCWhat? That makes no sense. Was Penelope supposed to fight for the chair?, or did she do that on the fly? None of this makes sense.

2025-02-25 20:11:33 +0000 UTCHas anyone checked on Bryan Alvarez to make sure he's got a fresh tinfoil hat? Sounds like it was a miscommunication that they can...you know...deal with and it didn't ruin the entire show? Hot take.

2025-02-25 19:47:20 +0000 UTCPositioning? They weren’t selling for Rosa at all… that’s not positioning…

2025-02-25 19:40:33 +0000 UTCThat seems kinda worse (maybe not) lol but not having the awareness to understand Thunder is making the save gotta get out

2025-02-25 19:31:37 +0000 UTCSometimes you fuck up at work. For most of us that doesn't mean hundreds of thousands of people get to see it. Amd I'm not necessarily blaming the in ring talent either. Sounds like there was a miscommunication somewhere.

2025-02-25 19:23:39 +0000 UTCI DO NOT GET why people couldn't just see that it was JUST awkward. THAT'S ALL I GOT HERE.

2025-02-25 19:21:19 +0000 UTCI’m not buying that miscommunication line at all. Those ladies have been wrestling or around for years now. Even if you freestyle, get out of the ring when the person that has a chair comes running down to the ring. I really don’t blame Rosa at all I may add

2025-02-25 19:19:45 +0000 UTCShit like this happens. It's live tv. Pick your heads up, forget about it, and move forward. It's not like something like this has never happened in WWE.

2025-02-25 19:12:53 +0000 UTCI thought it was pretty clear. They were just too close together. They didn't know how to play it off. Rosa and Ford are not rookies and should know how to execute and run-in/powder segment.

2025-02-25 19:12:41 +0000 UTCThat looked like garbage. It made everyone look bad. It was probably worse than the time Cora Jade went to hit someone with a skateboard, and it broke on the backswing.

2025-02-25 19:09:53 +0000 UTCHopeful right now that Bayne doesn't get into too much drama in aew. Such a good talent needs to get pushed into title matches not this stuff every time
