AEW Grand Slam news And Notes

• AEW held Dynamite tapings on Tuesday so they could fly out in time for the Grand Slam show.

• Tony Khan claimed to DownUnderTheRing that AEW Grand Slam would be the third highest international gate in AEW history.

• Tony Khan, Toni Storm, Adam Copeland, Kyle Fletcher all did media this week.

• Charli Evans, Lucas Fantasia, Lena Kross and others were brought to the show.

• AEW has made a number of trips over to Australia to promote the event to media in the last couple of months.

• As highlighted numerous times over the last couple of months, Grand Slam had never been planned internally as a PPV because the event would have been difficult to make successful with the time difference.

• The show will kick off in the 2 AM hour on the east coast from a live perspective, then air at 10:30 PM Saturday.

Toni Storm

DownUnder The Ring spoke to Toni about living on the Gold Coast. She also said that Brisbane doesn't get nearly enough love as a wrestling city. Toni says that most of what happens in the ring is a blur, but she's going to take a lot of this show in because she has a lot of family and friends coming to the show,

Adam Copeland

Cope told us that he's wrestled in Brisbane before and is excited to see an audience hungry for wrestling. He was making sure to adjust to the time change. Cope spoke about the benefits of social media. He also noted that being able to perform at a main event level is something very special to him after not being able to wrestle for so long. Cope says that he enjoys helping younger talent but doesn't put pressure on them to take his advice.

Kyle Fletcher

Kyle Fletcher noted that he was very happy to have his homecoming in Brisbane, but now lives in Chicago. He's been training exceptionally hard and dieting strictly to prepare for this. He is very excited to hear the reaction from the crowd considering he's the heel and Kenny Omega & Will Ospreay are beloved. Samoa Joe is a dream match for him,
