A NJPW Champion's Contract Expiring Soon
Added 2024-12-29 17:34:01 +0000 UTCTis the season for New Japan contracts to expire.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp has learned that Kevin Knight’s New Japan Pro Wrestling contract expires within the next few days, even though he’s scheduled for the upcoming Wrestle Kingdom show. Those we’ve spoken to claim that NJPW is interested in retaining Knight and negotiations will begin soon. We can confirm his name has been brought up within major American wrestling companies in recent months as well.
Knight has appeared on TNA programming this year, and is actually the current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion. He and his tag team partner Kushida are currently set to defend those titles this weekend at Wrestle Kingdom. The 27-year old has received heavy praise from those in TNA and NJPW we’ve spoken with, and had interest outside of those companies.

Would be an awesome NXT addition. Mens top end talent is sorely needed.
