More On Cara Noir vs El Hijo Del Vikingo PROGRESS Cancelation

On November 21st PROGRESS announced that Cara Noir would no longer be competing on their Vendetta 2 card later this week. This came after El Hijo Del Vikingo withdrew from their originally scheduled bout due to injury.

Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan has learned that a lot of effort went into trying to find a replacement opponent for Noir on the event, but ultimately the decision was made to allow Noir to rest up before he heads to the United States for dates with PROGRESS’ partners, DEFY.

In asking more about the decision, Brennan was told that it was a ‘sensitive situation’ following Cara’s recent return from a career threatening foot injury, and with Vikingo out of the dream match bout, the decision was made to ‘not just throw’ The Black Swan into a matchup for the sake of it.

Originally, it was believed that Vikingo would be able to wrestle Noir this weekend following his injury, but was pulled from the bout on November 18th.
