More on Tegan Nox's removal from indie date

Nixon Newell, formerly known as Tegan Nox, was recently announced for a return to the UK wrestling scene with ATTACK! next month. However, ATTACK! announced on Friday that Newell would not be competing on the show.

Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan has asked around within the UK wrestling scene about Newell’s removal, with some names expressing their disappointment with the withdrawal. In asking about the announcement and process behind the removal, Brennan was told that WWE and ATTACK! have been in discussions throughout the entire process and worked to try to make the date happen.

ATTACK spoke well of WWE, despite those we spoke to noting that they were ‘gutted’ at the end result. While we asked if a non-compete clause prevented the event, we were not told either way if it was an influence on Newell’s removal from the Under The Mistletour. It was expressed to us that ‘a myriad of issues’ could have been the cause of her removal.

ATTACK! are actively looking for a replacement for Newell, and those we spoke to expressed their desire to bring Newell to ATTACK! in the future. In speaking with other promoters in the UK and Europe, numerous promotions have expressed desires to book Newell once she becomes available.
