Fightful Select has learned that numerous referees in All Elite Wrestling were renewed on one year deals to remain with the company earlier this year, so far back that they may be mid-way into those deals. We weren’t given specific names as of yet, but were informed that at least a couple ended up getting extended.
A number of the referees in the company saw their previous agreements come to an end before being renewed. We’re told that they’re likely to be put on more long-term agreements in the future.
Fightful was told this when gauging online criticism from a couple of spots on PPV when referees appeared to have pushed shoulders up or place them down on the mat. We weren't given a direct reason for that, but were told it will not continue.
