Top International Act Could Be Headed To AEW

At RevPro Summer Sizzler on August 11th, Michael Oku challenged and came up short for the AEW American Championship against MJF. However, it looks like that will not be the last time’s AEW fans get a taste of Michael Oku.
As we have previously reported, Oku and Amira are both expected to work AEW’s Cardiff Dynamite taping as well as AEW All In later this month. Now, sources in RevPro claim to Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan that Oku and Amira are both close to signing with AEW and are expected to soon. As of this writing, no deal has been signed, and sources within AEW wouldn't confirm it to Sean Ross Sapp and hadn't heard the news, but said they wouldn't be surprised to see them end up on the UK AEW shows.
While asking around with other RevPro sources, several talent expressed their hope that Oku would be signed with AEW, with several touting how deserving Oku is of possibly being signed. It was reinforced to Brennan by sources that Oku and Amira will feature at All In.
In an interview following Summer Sizzler with Stephanie Chase, Oku confirmed that there have been discussions between both he and Amira and AEW.

I sense Tony is looking to stock up for ROH. Where there's smoke there's fire, and it seems like ROH is getting on TV in the new AEW-WBD deal. It's been hinted at "AEW Presents ROH" or something like that. I could be very wrong, but that's the vibe I'm sensing.

Oku a great talent & look regardless of what company a talent picks wheather it’s AEW or WWE once your happy & get paid that what matters. My only concern is there are alot of talented people in AEW like Rush Konosuke Starks Fletcher & Garcia who have gotten a lot of start stop pushes in AEW & it’s a case of you have so much talent & as a fan I’ve been waiting for TK to go All In on those talents & elevate then & now you got another guy on the roster fighting for that same spot. A very deserving guy & I’m excited to see him on a big stage like AEW but still another guy
