L.A. Taylor and Skye Smitson Interview Notes
Fightful’s Corey Brennan sat down with L.A. Taylor and Skye Smitson ahead of their tag team match with Lana Austin and Rob Drake at Progress Chapter 169: The Devil On My Shoulder on July 28th.
While discussing their upcoming match at the event, the pair noted that they were happy to see Progress put faith behind them with the special video package made for the occasion.
On Lana Austin’s previous comments to Fightful about the pair knowing that she was a bitch when they joined The Lana Austin Experience, Skye noted that while they did know that at the time, they felt they had a stronger bond with Lana then that. Both Skye and LA both also acknowledged that they can also be bitches at times, and that wasn’t the issue with Lana’s betrayal. LA also stated that before the Lana Austin Experience, she and Skye did not feel like people knew they existed.
When asked if they blame Rob Drake for the end of The Lana Austin Experience, the pair both admitted they don’t fault Rob for falling under Lana’s spell as they had also been in his position. Although, both women pointed to how Lana did lose her Progress Women’s Title in their absence, while Rob Drake was present for the moment. Both women gave Rob his due for his ability in the ring, but both maintained LA has him under control. On what they learned most from working with Lana, both women stated that creativity and the art of manipulation were both things they learned from Austin.
The pair both stated that while they weren’t sure what comes next after The Devil On My Shoulder, they did both say that the Progress Tag Titles would be a goal of theres in the future, despite Big Damo being “very big”.
On a possible Women’s Strong Style 16 tournament, the pair both admitted that facing each other in the tournament finals would be a dream match for the pair, repeatedly stating that “iron sharpens iron”.
This year, the pair aim to defend the “many” tag titles they hold across Europe. On a possible dream tag team match, the pair noted that they would love to face off with Australia’s Madusa Complex and The Gals.
