Irish Wrestling Injury Update
A big match has been set for ScrapperMania next month, with two names currently on the injury list set to compete.
Over The Top Wrestling announced on Wednesday that B Cool will put his guaranteed OTT World Title shot on the line in an eight man tag team match vs The Draw at the event. Should The Draw win, Sammy D will challenge Trent Seven for the OTT World Title at the event. If B Cool’s team should win, The Draw will be forced to disband.
Both Charlie Sterling and Jay (Danny Cross) have been announced for the event, with both men currently on the shelf with injuries. In February, Charlie Sterling underwent knee surgery, while back in April Jay suffered a torn UCL. When we reached out to OTT for clarification, we were told both would be cleared in time for the event.
In speaking with other sources sources in the Irish wrestling scene, Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan was told that Jay isn’t expected to be cleared until the day before ScrapperMania, and will undergo surgery in September. Those we spoke to also noted that Jay is highly motivated to make the match, and has been undergoing a significant amount of physiotherapy on his injured arm to make it back in time.
Following his surgery, Jay is expected to miss another six weeks of in ring action. We have not heard as of this writing of any names set to team with B Cool at the event, but in speaking with several OTT talent, there is a sense of excitement about the matchup and ScrapperMania as a whole which was described to Brennan as “a showcase of Irish Wrestling.”

2024-07-16 20:06:59 +0000 UTCHow come AEW doesn't do more with Nick Wayne? I really think he should be wrestling a lot more. If you're not confident in his ability to draw right now, why not have him in ROH in top title feuds? I think an ROH World Title run would benefit him well enough.
