Slang?
Added 2021-03-15 18:44:07 +0000 UTCSo I avoided a lot of slang in the text I've written so far, but as I begin to write multiple characters and get into the meat of the story, the different personalities begin to form, and slang is a great way to give them a little colour.
So how would you all feel about South African slang being added to the text? This would be all forms of local slang, including words from our many languages, local words with no overseas analogues, and that sort of thing.
Since I don't want anyone to wonder at what words mean, I would do this only by also adding an option to have inline tooltips. So if there's a sentence "Lekker man", the "Lekker" would have a different colour or be underlined or something and would be hoverable to see a definition. I would also add a glossary on the main screen to see all definitions.
