Select Portions: Copeland/Ricky, Brock Anderson, Paul Wight, More,

- It was reiterated to us after the article we published that there were no issues between Copeland and Ricky Starks.

- We've heard that the departure between Brock Anderson and AEW was amicable and that there doesn't appear to be any bad blood associated with it. He's already garnered some interest on the indies.

- Paul Wight was sent to make an appearance at Ohio Valley wrestling to help promote AEW’s Dynamite in Louisville on November 1.

- For those asking, Jake Roberts is still under contract to AEW and is slated to do some work with them, even if off screen.

Aaron Mercer Notes -- Airs 10/26 on Spotlight

Was originally supposed to face Bryan Keith in a regular match, but it got changed to a hardcore match. BK didn’t know until he got to the venue. Wasn’t supposed to get as extreme as it did. Apologized to promoter during and after match for destroying the venue.

Had tribute spots to Jeff Hardy, Kevin Steen, John Cena, Samoa Joe, Undertaker, and Bray Wyatt in the match.

Didn’t have anything planned for the match since BK got there late. Just called stuff in the ring and enjoyed doing the improve part of things. Doesn’t like planning matches out because it takes away from the character and being in the moment.

Praises Bryan Keith’s aura and work ethic. Thought his call out of Bryan Danielson was incredible. Told BK that he didn’t have to do that match and hopes he can one day pay him back.

Says Cody Rhodes is one of the nicest wrestlers he’s ever met.

Sidelined with a torn ACL and meniscus in his left knee. Has wrestled all year with no ACL. Right knee popped playing basketball earlier this year. Hope it’s “minor” like a meniscus. Getting everything looked at in January.

Is ready to get surgery. “If I wrestle like this injured, imagine how I am healthy.”

Trained with Funaki and Rodney Mack. Says Funaki is a big Aaron Rodgers fan.

Learned mauy Thai under Pete Spratt. Has always wanted to have an actual fight. Knows he would need to really train and wants to get healthy first.

Matt Makowski thought he had trained jiu-jitsu.

Chops got easier to take when he started doing death matches. Says Kevin Blackwood hit him with the hardest forearm.

Reached out to Shawn Dean about being on AEW. Sat in catering the first time. Got used the second time. Enjoyed working with The Gunns. Ricky Starks told him to make connections.

Isn’t sure what he wants to do when he returns. Mentions how captivating Bray Wyatt was and thinks it would be cool to be a character and make “out there” videos for the Independent scene. Has said WWE doesn’t interest him, but it’s the place for the best stories and that’s what he likes right now.

Is retired from death matches unless it’s the right person and circumstances.

Cody Chhun Notes (Appeared on 10/25 episode of In The Weeds https://youtu.be/o9Qp0nkr8K8)

Wasn’t going to get his hopes up when SANADA was first announced that he would be the opponents. Is happy to be trusted with that spot.

Didn’t realize the west coast scene was hot until Lee Moriarty tweeted he wanted to wrestle Cody. Thought he would need to go elsewhere to really get more exposure but learned how popular the west coast scene was.

Thanked Christopher Daniels for “dragging” him through their match in 2019. Daniels said it takes two to work. That match was the first time he felt like he was over and the crowd was reacting to him.

Trained with Buddy Wayne. Buddy would take them out to dinner and tell Cody to order two because he was so small. Also trained with Darby Allin.

Wants to wrestle an Iron Man match. Feels it would be a good challenge.

Wants his tag partner Guillermo Rosas to wrestle more Luchadores because his style is influenced by them.

Didn’t tell anyone he was working AEW tapings in Jacksonville during the pandemic. Would love to have a rematch with Ricky Starks. Is more relaxed when he’s at AEW tapings because he’s done so many and wrestled a lot of guys on the Indies.
