Aleah James on WWE departure

FightfulSelect.com spoke with former NXT UK Superstar Aleah James for an exclusive interview.

Aleah told Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp that her contract ended in June 2023, but she had time to decide what she wanted to do before announcing it publicly.

Aleah said she was cleared right when NXT UK was ending. Aleah told us that nobody had any idea that NXT UK would be ending when it did. Aleah said her story differs from others because she has not wrestled anywhere, including the Independents.

Aleah said she decided when she wanted to let people know when she was a free agent. Aleah says she has not wrestled yet and wants to take things as they come and have more self-confidence.

She said she was initially supposed to be in NXT, but things changed, and it was supposed to be NXT Europe. She is going to try and get the love back for wrestling. Aleah is working on getting her Visa situation resolved. Aleah told us that she does not have a particular geographical area where she wants to work. Aleah said she is happy with anything that comes her way and told us she did not plan on going to NXT UK either at one point.

The Romford, Essex, England native told Sean she was feeling good physically. Aleah says she feels like her body has a clean slate.

When asked if there was someone she wanted to work with, Aleah told us she would like to wrestle Marina Shafir. She says she loves it when people bring a different background into wrestling, and that would be a dream match.  Mickie James was the other person that Aleah mentioned. Aleah smiled and said, “Mickie James is her adopted Mother.”

Aleah spoke to us about training with Noam Dar and his coach. She told us that she has had much time to take the lead on her character and career. Aleah spoke highly of her matches against Kanji in Rev Pro and Isla Dawn in NXT UK. She would recommend people to watch those matches of hers if they wanted to see Aleah James matches.

Aleah told us her favorite moment in NXT UK was being in a segment with Noam Dar, where she had to bet against him. She said that was very fun for her. She says she feels like she underestimates how helpful it is to get to learn things from Dar. Aleah says Isla Dawn and Nina Samuels are two other people who have a larger part in helping her during her career.

She told us she is a fan of Rap and R&B Music. She said she also wants to see where her sports modeling career goes. She mentioned that she has an interest in doing CrossFit competitions.
