Roxanne Perez on Shawn Michaels, Rumble, WWE signing

Roxanne Perez spoke with Fightful Select during WrestleMania week. When speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Perez was asked if she had specific ideas for where she wanted her career to be. She said that right now, she is trying to take in every moment she can, especially as NXT Women’s Champion.

Perez was asked about her reaction when discovering she would be in the Royal Rumble. She said it was so much to process. Perez mentioned that Money in the Bank, Royal Rumble, and WrestleMania were her top dream matches as a child.

Roxanne would tell Fightful about having to evolve. She says you have to evolve to keep the fans invested. She said Shawn Michaels told her to keep living in the moment and working hard.

Roxanne would tell Fightful about the WWE wanting her in their company. She found it cool because it was always her dream to be there. Roxanne talked about not knowing how to get there but figured out that she could work her way up throughout the Indies, and one day, maybe they’ll call her. Roxanne also thought it was crazy that people knew who she was already during her tryout.

The former Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion would also talk about the tryout process for the WWE. She talked about training at Booker T’s school. Roxanne said Booker prepared her. Roxanne also mentioned that her boyfriend and Independent wrestler, Gino Medina helped her prepare for it too.
Roxanne would close out her talk with Fightful by telling us about being in the WWE 2K23 video game. She said the first time she played the game, Roxanne almost got emotional when she saw herself in the game the first time.
