The latest we've heard on what Main Events WrestleMania

Recently, Fightful Select reported that talent had not been informed as to who would be main eventing night one of WrestleMania. A day before the show, we've learned a little bit more about where WWE at least has been leaning.
WWE sources indicated as of Friday that Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair had not been told they were main eventing the match, but it was believed that those involved in the tag team match had been made aware that they could prepare for that slot. One WWE source claimed that had been the case for the last couple of weeks, and many within the company had operated on the assumption that the tag team match would main event.
Internally, we're told the thought had been given to Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair main eventing because women didn't main event last year. However, virtually everyone we reached out to said that they thought the tag title match would and should main event the show. It was also noted that the tag titles had never main evented WrestleMania, and a man of Syrian descent had never headlined the show.
Those that we've spoken to within the company believe the tag team match is going to main event, but believe it will be finalized at Saturday morning's production meeting.

The main event should go to the biggest story. That's the Tag Main Event and it just is what it is. Sasha and Bianca main evented because that was their biggest match on night1. Becky vs. Ronda vs. Charlotte main evented because that was the biggest match. Charlotte vs. Rhea should of been bigger but it just wasn't. Hell, Dom and Rey could even main event Night 1 honestly over Charlotte and Rhea and it would make sense. Sometimes things happen and there is always next year...
