Changes to AEW Dynamite this week
Added 2023-01-27 01:09:29 +0000 UTCThe Jay Briscoe tribute went off well, and many things were changed to accommodate it on AEW Dynamite.
Prior to Tuesday, it didn't look like the tribute or Mark Briscoe's match was happening, but AEW moved many things around to make it a reality. Ian Riccaboni was booked for the show Tuesday, and flew in just hours before the show.
Darby Allin vs. Buddy Matthews was originally scheduled to main event, and had some time trimmed in order to help make room for the Mark Briscoe vs. Jay Lethal match. We're told the Gunns/Acclaimed video was also longer, and was trimmed to make some time. One source told us that it was impressive how they were able to provide Mark Briscoe and Jay Lethal as much time as they needed without compromising anything else that was advertised.
Those we spoke to were very happy with the show.
We're told Kenny Omega wanted to be there, but has been battling visa issues. FTR had already been scheduled to be backstage at the show.
Dalton Castle was at the show and came to sit front row to cheer on Mark Briscoe.

Didn't Kenny give up his Canadian Citizenship when he took Japanese citizenship?

2023-01-27 21:46:08 +0000 UTCI’m pretty sure Omega was there. He came out afterwards for the tribute, did he not?
2023-01-27 18:22:43 +0000 UTCBeing a resident doesn’t mean you are a citizen. He has a working visa in america and it’s just time to renew it probably

2023-01-27 11:32:50 +0000 UTCKenny is a Florida resident. What a strange issue.
2023-01-27 04:30:45 +0000 UTCI mean, there are definitely harder countries to come from, but it is way easier for Americans to work in Canada than vice versa

2023-01-27 01:49:52 +0000 UTCReally surprised Kenny Omega doesn't have another credit card from Mastercard or American Express.

2023-01-27 01:38:32 +0000 UTCTHEY ARE NOT. Getting a visa into the US is a massive pain in the ass. There is a recent push to get some folks in Vancouver able to work down in Defy, but that was years in the making after many got temporary or permanent bans
