Select Portions: Pitch Black, Bray Wyatt, Smackdown, More
Added 2023-01-20 20:11:58 +0000 UTC- Fightful Select has learned that there are "neon" elements to the Mountain Dew Pitch Black match at Royal Rumble. They've been doing some run throughs for the match.
- WWE is also doing a press conference after the Royal Rumble, which is also sponsored by Mountain Dew Pitch Black
- In all, WWE has community events Thursday, media events Friday, another event early Saturday, a press conference Saturday, as they hit media hard for WrestleMania season.
- WWE confirmed to Fightful that office cuts are ongoing on Friday.
- Bray Wyatt and Uncle Howdy's materials were sent to tonight's Smackdown, which has been happening whether they're on the show or not. Firefly Funhouse stuff was also sent in, but that's no guarantee they'll be on the show either.
- Street Profits are in Detroit for the Smackdown tapings. WWE has Raw stars work post-show dark matches regularly.

I blame the casual crowd being 'trained' to take in things a certain way for years and needing to adjust. For example, Nikki Cross in the background hints there is something in the works....yet a lot of fans don't notice little things like that because they aren't always as stressed upon. Fans who do notice ragging on them in a nasty way for not noticing doesn't help. In time I think more fans will adjust to persons other than the top of the card. Some of it is on the E too. They did a segment for SD LowDown to setup Nox/Xia over NY weekend and didn't even replay it on SD. Last week they did the 3 minute match after what for most fans was a few episodes with no mention of that feud. I don't recall them even doing much to promote the match on SD or social media, my nobody self did more on my fan run blog thanks to SRS's SD lineup post. WWE themselves need to promote the non-top matches better.

The neon in the Pitch Black match is looking really cool, and I can’t wait to see if the Funhouse elements along with the Bray and Howdy materials are actually on SmackDown tonight.

2023-01-20 21:21:40 +0000 UTCThey don't do much to make performers outside of the big names and title feuds feel important so fans don't treat them as important. I don't know the fix other than dedicate more time to them, but I know that may not be feasible because they have a lot of people that need to eat on TV and I'm not sure putting them more on Main Event or other shows would accomplish what they need to.

2023-01-20 21:17:38 +0000 UTCLet me start by saying l enjoy women's wrestling and this isn't a knock but I think the question needs to start being asked. Why do you think it is that other than top of the card feuds and talent their matches and segments typically cause drops in ratings and generate a noticeable lack of crowd reaction? What do you think can be done to fix this?
