- Indy Wrestler Lev Shapiro was the guest on this week’s Wrestling Perspective Podcast with Lars Frederiksen and Dennis Farrell. The guys asked him about his journey in wrestling and the old-school style character he developed. This interview will air Sunday at 12pm Eastern time on Youtube and your favorite Podcast streaming platforms.

Levi talked about how today’s wrestlers live in a social media world, and how he had to adapt to promote himself.

Dennis asked Levi if he felt his character might have a glass ceiling, since it is a unique persona. Levi said doesn’t know and that he’s still grinding. He said sometimes he will get down on himself, because he knows he’s a good hand and knows if he was given some chances at a top level he could go.

Levi was asked if those wanting to be pro wrestlers now that the evolution changed. He said he believes so, because if you look at Bad Bunny, Bad Bunny is the most popular musician in the world, and you look at Jake Paul. Wrestling is more acceptable nowadays, and more people are coming into it. It’s not as hard as it was. People are finding reputable wrestling schools, and they are closer to where they live, and they don’t have to travel as far. Levi noted that calling matches on the fly is foreign to so many newer wrestlers.

Levi says he wants to be involved in wrestling one way or another, whether in the ring or behind the scenes. He wants to have a laundry list of things he can do. He said he wants to be a commentator, ring announcer, in production. He said that’s the dream, and he is okay doing the content producing.

Levi says he had nasal reconstructive surgery at the beginning of the year, and said he will need another one so he can breathe properly, and that will help him in the long run, he says. He says he is still trying to figure out who is the modern era Levi Shapiro.

Shapiro said wrestling at the Cow Palace was a dream come true for him. He loves wrestling in VFW’s across the country.

Levi said if he had more social media presence, he could get a little further. He said he slacked on that and hopes to turn that around.
