Tony Khan on UK show, Paige VanZant, Cody, Gresham, More

- Doesn't know when he'll be able to say when and where the UK show will happen. He's working on some logistics.

- Tony Khan will not commit to NOT doing a Fingerpoke of Doom on January 4. This is largely a joke, don't get hurt over it. He says that AEW and WCW get a lot of comparisons because they both aired on TBS/TNT and have guys like Sting, Schiovane and others who have worked for both companies. He said that they're way different companies, and AEW going away like WCW isn't a concern because they're not owned by a media property. He's not going anywhere.

- Tony Khan originally wasn't going to ever run an ROH show WrestleMania weekend show again past the one promoted by the previous regime. However, Righteous Reg mentioning he found ROH during Mania weekend in the past opened his eyes to the possibility of fans discovering the brand during that weekend.

- Righteous Reg said admittedly Chris Jericho wasn't an ROH champ he was in favor of. Tony Khan said that Jericho drew good numbers and the experiment worked out for them. Specifically he's happy about the fan interaction of the "Ocho" chant.

- Tony Khan was asked about Jonathan Gresham and said he couldn't speak on it too much, but he's now signed to IMPACT Wrestling, so he's done with AEW. He says that he likes Jonathan Gresham and likes IMPACT Wrestling and is happy for them.

- Tony Khan says that Cody Rhodes leaving was a major challenge, and that any time you lose a talent of his caliber, it not only impacts the roster and in-ring, it impacts several different departments. Jon Moxley coming back was a big help to them.

- Paige VanZant makes a lot of money and commands a high dollar amount. Tony Khan would love PVZ to come back. He says it wasn't a one off match and is open to it down the road. He says they need to have the right opponent for her.

- There were a lot of challenges in promoting Forbidden Door. He said that at one point he had to say "we've gotta get some of these guys over from Japan to promote the show." NJPW having to run their own promotion while sending talent overseas had to be a difficult thing to set up. He said he was originally jealous of the ROH/NJPW relationship.

- CM Punk and FTR were supposed to be a trio this summer, and a lot of the Forbidden Door card wasn't as they originally planned.

- Tony says you're never going to be able to keep every single person on the roster happy. He says a series of circumstances lead to people not being on TV, or not being featured, and he takes the criticism with a smile.

- Will Washington asked if we'll see CM Punk back in AEW in 2023. Tony Khan says he appreciates the question but can't answer that.

A good interview with TK. Which of course Grapsody could do that. The biggest of all congrats on one hell of a get.

Congrats on getting this interview, fellas 👏🏽 (from a day 1 Grapsody listener)

I assumed they had Paige signed to do matches. This sounds like they’re still in negotiations.

If Punk does come back to AEW, he's got a loooooot of apologizing to do.

I really hope / wish that CM Punk and the Elite / Hangman, could get in a room, and draw up a storyline scenario that covers over a year, and gets them all working together. There is so much money to be made by everyone over this.

I saw the new commercial and I have to admit, I was kinda riveted. It made me want to watch (I'd fell off a bit lately).

Hearing Tony say “I appreciate the question but I can’t answer that” popped me so hard because of course that’s what Tony would say in regards to CM Punk.

Joel Wood

Surprised no Fight Forever talk considering Reg is on the soundtrack but they probably can’t talk about that just yet either
