Madusa Interview Notes with The Wrestling Perspective's Podcast

The Wrestling Perspective is one of Fightful's newest shows. It is hosted by Lars Frederiksen of the Punk Rock Band "Rancid" and Dennis Farrell. This week, they interviewed WWE Hall-of-Famer and three-time Women’s champion Madusa/Alundra Blayze.

Madusa noted how she got into the wrestling business. She said a a friend’s boyfriend named Ky Michaelson brought it to her attention, and at first she was not interested, but he would keep talking to her about it and eventually talked her into it. She said she was good to wrestling, but wrestling was not good to her. She said she hit the pinnacle in her career multiple times.

Madusa spoke in length about the Mandy Rose release and said everyone has their own reasoning. She said if Mandy did not get a warning, there is a double standard, because there are still people who have received warnings and are still employed in the company. She was asked what advice she would give Mandy Rose. The topic of who she could go to for advice, and she brought up Paul Heyman. Madusa said Heyman did so much for her career. She also brought up Sherri Martel’s name as someone she learned about ring psychology from.

Madusa talked about her transition from wrestling into the Monster Truck. She said Michael Weber, now the CEO of Fite TV, asked her if she was interested in getting into the sport.

She spoke about how she and other women were treated and harassed. She mentioned that wrestling fans would be disappointed if they knew who these wrestlers were.

Madusa also mentioned that her good friend Paul Heyman wrote the foreward to her autobiography, which will be released in the spring.

This interview will be available on Youtube and your favorite streaming platform at 12:00pm Eastern on Christmas Day.

While I completely understand what you’re saying. I think we might learn more when her book comes out. I think people will enjoy this interview a lot. I enjoyed writing the articles. Rob Wilkins Fightful & FightfulSelect.com
