EJ Nduka talks WWE release, MLW, Getting hired at WWE

Early notes from Grapsody's interview with EJ Nduka of MLW!

- Says MLW believed in him and came with a plan when they contacted him after WWE release.

- Constantly talked with D-Von Dudley and Scotty 2 Hotty at NXT.

- Got into wrestling through a DM exchange with Scotty, which led to his tryout.

- Was part of the same WWE tryout as Jade Cargill.

- Was excited to team with Calvin Tankman even though he wasn’t sure about being part of a tag team as first.

- Tankman was part of the WWE tryout after him and remembered him from the tryout.

- Says Battle Riot was his first TV match and he had to learn 40 spots. Was told he was going to be a focal point of the match.

- After he got released he told him, “If you don’t get over in three months, you need to get your ass up out of here.”

- Would train at D-Von’s gym during the pandemic with SCYPTS, Odyssey Jones, Ricochet, and John Morrison.

- Had a vision board during the pandemic with five goals. Spoke with (MLW Producer) Biff Lawson about his character and laid things out.

- Wanted to be undeniable and versatile and not just looked at as a body guy who needed a mouthpiece.

- Looks at anything or any situation for motivation, including Reg’s BW500. Says he has the Mamba Mentality.

- Watched a lot of Rock, Randy Orton, John Cena, Booker T, D-Von, Batista, and Triple H to formulate his character and style.

- Triple H told EJ that he reminded him of The Rock. Triple H was always told that EJ is the hardest worker of the group. The conversation boosted his mentality and made him realize he could do something in the business.

- Says he was born to be a heel and enjoyed his first heel promo because it was stuff he was waiting to say.

- Praises Hammerstone and is excited to work with him. Says Court Bauer always saw him as a star.
