The size of a person's astral body is mostly a solid thing, with bigger things having bigger astral bodies, like dragons and kaiju, but people's astral bodies are all around 2x to 3x the size of themselves. everything's astral body is about 2x to 3x the size of themselves. This was stated long ago and has been a constant limitation to Mark's/everyone's powers. so Mark can fly, but only about 10 meters off of the ground, because that is as far as his astral body can stretch. That is how he has been flying; by pushing off of the ground with bits of metal. Sorry if this was not explained enough.

2024-09-08 20:13:59 +0000 UTCSally is awesome. I feel like she really filled in a gap that we didn't really know existed until now. Sure Isoko is enthusiastic about hunting, but Sally *lives* for it. Very good vibes. Notably because she's just his buddy. He really needed a buddy. Isoko is more of a good friend than a bro like Sally. I also feel like we need to see Mark have a serious talk about what kinesis users can and can't effect with their powers. We had a lot of flying talk in this part and simultaneously we had a lot of object-flying in this part. Why can he lift his spear, or all Sally's very heavy luggage, but not himself? Why is no one in this story asking him this question when he talks about wanting to fly? This meta ability of kinesis seems to be willfully ignored by the narration. Importantly, we know that tactile kinesis can be used on yourself to protect your gear and stuff, so clearly kinesis works on people or things people are wearing. It just needs to be brought up because it's getting a little tiring to hear about Mark swooning for an ability he really should already have access to, or aspirations to train for at least.
