Any sort've effect that could work on the things around them could be used to stop or disable them. So stuff like making ether gas or flinging rocks at their head could knock them out. Its a bit risky but its also probably quickly doable on a large scale for him.

Also with Eric getting the backing of pretty much all the gods and other powers of the world, other than some potentially nasty terrorist acts, the remaining kings won't be able to do much of anything. They'll have to stay in hiding like wizards used to...but with far less power and resources to back them. Even with the angels backing them.

You bring it up quite well and I don't think many of us could do better if being dropped in a world like this and gaining his crazy power. Personally, I would prefer death to having someone change my soul, but it beats having my soul sundered, and lots of these people probably deserve that.

I'm thinking a gigantic barrier around the territories of the Sovereign Cities that siphons off 99.99% of all mana within the territories in order to sustain itself, Paradoxed so that physical damage is converted into mana as well, then Hasted as far as it will go. Trigger it to expire when there is nothing capable of thought within the barrier.
