Heartskein is done! I'm just waiting on all the retail links to propagate so I can do the formal launch (probably next week). (Yes, it's up already, if you go look for it! You can buy it ahead of launch if you want, or leave reviews on Amazon/Goodreads/your blog/etc.) (Yes, there will be a launch post here!)
My plan is still to shift gears radically and work on Coracle next, and I'm excited about that! But I think I need a little time off to exhale. Finishing off Heartskein completed the Major Pieces Kickstarter, the single largest crowdfunding campaign I've ever done: $12K, seven months, and two entirely new books written. I'm still having a wut moment about that. Major Pieces was over 600 pages long. Even for me, writing two new books in seven months, one of which was a massive behemoth, is a little over the top...!
Anyway, I've been toying with lists of things I'd like to do in the couple of weeks I was thinking of taking off before embarking seriously on Coracle. It's split into a couple of categories, Fun and Admininstrivia. Here's the Administrivia list:
I need to do these things anyway, but some part of me is saying 'why use your time off between books to do that!' (To which the rolling-eyes-part-of-me responds, 'obviously because I'm between books and have time for it.') The enthusiastic Artist part of me wants to do fun things instead, like:
There's probably other stuff. Actually, there's certainly other stuff; I'm trying to come up with more of them before I finish scheduling the last of the book launch stuff. I feel like a great weight's vanished from my shoulders (between the exhibit prep and finishing up Heartskein), and I want to revel in it. What fun thing do you think I should do? I want to hear your ideas too!
