We’re heading into the holidays, and the final weeks of the year! Which is traditionally the time of year I slow down; I try to take at least two weeks, if not the whole month, off. I asked a bunch of you what you wanted to see from me, post-wise, during this slower period and surprisingly the answer was “news and updates!” I can totally do that! So here we go..!
On Discord, we’re embarking on the last two books of the Her Instruments series for our readalong; the Laisrathera readalong begins today, and A Rose Point Holiday in two weeks (in time for the real life holidays! Nice planning, Readalong Coordinators). Those discussions take place in the #vault channel (which is for spoilers), and there’s no criteria for joining. Some people are reading for the first time… some are re-reading for pleasure. All are welcome… just show up and join the discussion!
Was there something you wanted to read on Patreon but you can’t find it because their search function leaves a great deal to be desired? Madamebadger has started up a spreadsheet with links to (and descriptions of) all the posts on my patreon. You can sort them by your favorite settings or subject, or by your patronage level, or just skip around and check out stuff you find interesting. Or, if you feel like it, you can help out by adding to the spreadsheet. There are some thousand+ posts on patreon now, so there are gaps. Less than I expected though! Thank you, Badger and assistants!
Also, if you’d like to donate to the Patreon grant fund, we’ve got people waiting for grants! Please contact me and I’ll put you in touch with the grant manager.
I’m offering a couple of live (via webcam/conferencing software) classes in the new year through Cat Rambo’s academy, one on crowdfunding and one on writing/managing series fiction, so if you’re at all interested in those hop on over here to check out the details. I believe Cat gives discounts to Patrons, so if you’re one of mine tell her and I’ll verify it for her so you can get the discount. Also, I believe there are a few scholarship opportunities, so you can apply for one of those if you’re short on funds.
I’ve finished a new silly art design, “Holy Carp”, which is available in my Etsy store as a sticker and on Zazzle as a mug. If you want it on anything else, let me know!
The Fuzzy Heroes promo is still running, so if you want to pick up Flight of the Godkin Griffin for free, go nab it and anything else that looks interesting! Flight is Book 1 of the Godkindred Saga duology, so there’s a second book follow-up, but I promise it wraps up nicely (and in fact has one of the most enjoyable endings I’ve written).
Finally, a reminder: this year I’ve released five books! Did you miss one? Here’s the list:
That's everything for now! I'll be continuing to work on writing and art until the end of the year, with the intention of starting off January of 2020 with lots of goodies!
