In addition to school starting, this week is Daughter Birthday Week so it's astonishing I got anything done at all! It's probably not surprising that midway through the week I crashed on the round chair for the first nap I've taken in months. When I woke up, it was to this cohabitant. I am okay with this, since he seems to have passed out of the 'I randomly bite/claw things while napping' phase. If he can nap politely, he can nap with me. As long as we've established that it is Jaguar's chair, and that all other felines use it on the Empress's sufferance. >.>
News-wise, things are quiet! Because I'm still handling "getting back to school routine" stuff. I am writing in preparation for the late September release of Major Pieces, and finishing up Kherishdar's Exception's audio. After that, I've got the next Jahir and Vasiht'h novel to do, and Coracle, and that'll take me into next year.
Since news is quiet this seems a good time to say that reviews make authors happy, and other readers more likely to buy. If you've been thinking about dropping a review on my work (or anyone's!), please do! (Amazon and Goodreads have the highest traffic.) If you're not sure what to say, I have a guide to reviewing (anything, not just books!) here, and here's my post about why one-line reviews might be even more important than longer ones.
Also, that probably didn't come across as a request because I am bad about that, and I'm told I should just ask for things, so... if you enjoyed something I wrote, please tell a friend. Word of mouth is king (and really, reviews are just another form of word of mouth). 💖
Finally, in my neverending quest for a good chocolate chip cookie recipe (and an attempt at making a cookie cake for Daughter's birthday), I ran across this one and we both agree it is a great set of ratios. (They said, licking the bowl). Have at it!
I hope you're having a great weekend! 😊
