Kherishar Notes: The Capital

These were my initial notes for designing the capital city of Kherishdar. Also, we had a billion words this week... okay, slight exaggeration, but only slightly. As I'm collecting my notes and re-reading things, I am adding more words to the lexicon, and we've had over 50 since Monday. More deep concept words, of course, but also useful things like 'doll' and 'laser'.

The vocabulary is long past the point where I can remember even the smallest fraction of it, though pieces of it will come back at unexpected moments.
Anyway, here are some of my favorite additions lately:
- ronaj - labor by choice (when there's an easier/more convenient/more modern way to do something, but you do it the time-consuming way because you want to)
- shimor - tantrums (kid storm). Singular is shimori
- naveit - to know better; this is a word with negative connotations, used as we might say 'you should have known better than to act that way' or 'act your age'. Also used as an exclamation: 'you should have behaved with more decorum', more or less
- fof - bags, sacks (singular is deeply fun to say 'fofi')
- ihh - 'huh?', a weak repair query. This word sometimes becomes (lazily) 'ee'. It's also the first declension ending for the 'possessed by' case and there's a sense that what you're possessed by when it's hanging out there without a noun is confusion.
- lap - to err, to make mistakes, particularly silly or ridiculous ones. (To make serious errors is 'shauve')
- dijit - to family-kiss (also a noun, a family-kiss). This is a kiss intended to express affection or chaste love, not one intended to arouse.
- dirigadare - dollhouses (singular is 'dirigadarein')
