As those of you eyeing my twitter are aware, this end-of-week/weekend I'm at the Novelists Inc. conference in Saint Petersburg, so I am head down in many, many lectures/sessions about the business of book selling! It is fantastic. I am eating so much food, plus catching up with industry news, and friends like the folks from Draft2Digital. Plus I met Leah Cutter, who wrote Paper Mage! I love that book. <3
Also, I've been painting the Sediyrl cover and it's almost done, so I should be ready to get that book up next... not week, because Tuesday is my birthday and I am planning to binge-read the new Honor Harrington book while eating multiple tiny cakes. But after next week and before the end of October!

The commute, which is averaging about 2 hours and 15 minutes a day, is giving me plenty of time to listen to the Sword audiobook which is tremendous and wonderful and I can't wait to hit 'go' on it. Particularly since it's the first 'wide distribution' audiobook I'll be doing. Yes, finally! Libraries! Kobo! Other retailers other than Audible or Amazon! I can't wait.
So that's my weekend! Super-exciting.
But back to the birthdays! What do you all do on your birthdays? Something I can fit in? I usually go for 'something I've never done before' as a way to keep my brain plastic, but this year things crept up on me and I haven't had time to schedule anything. Give me your ideas! :D
