Brainstorming New Vignettes
Added 2018-08-23 17:07:57 +0000 UTCI'm preparing the Amulet Rampant print edition Kickstarter for next month, which is requiring me to come up with some fun "extra/deleted scenes" or "more context scenes" material, and I wanted to see if any of you had anything you wanted first!
To refresh your memory, because the vignettes should take place during the book, before it, or in the space between it and Only the Open, in PG3 we meet the Knife and the Queen, the Mother and the children in the nursery and their attendants, and the new Second over in the Chatcaavan Empire; Jahir and Lisinthir, of course, are having their tete-a-tete with benefits; and Vasiht'h is visiting with Sehvi and her family. We're also introduced to Sediryl, and we get some facetime with Laniis and her compatriots in Fleet Intelligence.
(Interestingly, the world Laniis was on when she was picked up has a lot of out-of-character backstory! It wouldn't make a good vignette, but it would probably amuse some people.)
Anyway, I have a couple of suggestions here, from the comments on the PG2 KS:
- Vasiht'h talking with his mom while on Anseahla
- How Amber ended up off-world and at the abbey
What about the rest of you? Anything you're hankering to see? All of these will eventually end up in a single collection, so you'll be able to have a proper copy once all these Kickstarters are done!

2018-08-23 17:36:11 +0000 UTCI wouldn't mind something with Uuvek, with or without the Knife, set before Amulet, that deals with his... Apartness in an everyday context. He's clearly not quite like other Chatcaava, does this ever cause him, or his friends, any problems?

2018-08-23 17:28:38 +0000 UTCI'm not sure about scenes, but I do have some world lore questions I'd love to see explained sometime (if you've already answered these elsewhere, I apologize!). They're mostly related to biology. We know that Eldritch and humans can reproduce (and the baby is Eldritch), and we know that Chatcaava can breed with any(?) race (and the baby is Chatcaava). Can different Pelted races reproduce with one another naturally and/or with gen-eng help? Can they reproduce with humans? Are Harat-Shar intraraces genetic in the sense that two tigraines will produce another tigraines? Can the different intraraces reproduce? What's the result? Are there leonine Harat-Shar? (sorry, I kinda let this run long...)
