I usually draw out my experiences, particularly milestone ones--good and bad--as a way of working through them. Since this was the first time (and last!) I had a gallbladder removed, and the first time I've ever gone under general anesthesia, I drew myself a complex piece that...I decided was a little too intense to just throw into people's inboxes unannounced.
So I did this one instead, based on my observation over the weekend that after 15 years of slowly failing, my gallbladder was ready to be freed from its suffering and cross the Rainbow Bridge with all our other faithful companions who precede us to our rewards.
(This caused someone in the chat to have a confused image of gallbladders waiting for their owners amid all the dogs and cats, which gave me a much needed giggle.)
Anyway, farewell, little organ! You did good while you could.
