I never said hold the story hostage, just put a chapter forward on patreon to encourage people to pay 3 bucks to be a chapter ahead. While it might not be enough to pay your bills, it might help give you a vacation/emergency fund or give you a self esteem boost. That said, its not a must, I just think your story is worth paying a couple of dollars to get a week or so ahead. I know when I get around to writing my story for RR I'm probably going to have a couple of tiers to get ahead. Though to be fair I've been 'working' on it for 2 years on and off, to much of a perfectionist to make it past chapter 3

2021-07-28 06:19:50 +0000 UTCIn the short term, life and general circumstances have transpired to ensure that there is no unedited backlog... and its not for lack of trying. If the chapters were shorter... say 5-7k, i might consider it, but with long chapters I would just be detrimental to the readers. Regarding making money off it, the Patreon would have to bring in 10x what it does at minimum for me to even consider it being sustainable lol. I am certainly no millionaire, but i never intended to make money off the story in this way. Who knows how things may change eventually, but with money comes complications with editors and people who help with the story and all these things.

You deserve to make at least some money besides tips on this. charging 3 dollars for one chapter ahead on chapters as long as your chapters are isn't much of an ask. Seriously, if all you need is to charge a reasonable amount to get a few chapters ahead on patreon to make this a sustainable career and write more, do it. (Ignore me if you happen to be a secret millionaire who is writing for eccentricates sake and just made a patreon to see how the peasants get tipped.)
