Celebrating a decade of Rusty Quill

Here at Rusty Towers, we are gearing up for something rather momentous:

Rusty Quill’s tenth anniversary.

June 2025 marks 10 years since Alex – with the help of some friends – founded Rusty Quill and launched our first podcast, Rusty Quill Gaming.

RQG is, as you know, a TTRPG actual play where a group of friends begin by working towards a small goal but end up creating something much bigger than themselves.

And – cheesy as it is to say – the same can be said for Rusty Quill itself (though thankfully with less dragons).

What began as some friends around a kitchen table has grown into a production company with 10 multi-award-winning podcasts to its name – one of which is in the top 100 most streamed shows in the world on Spotify – a Network of outstanding independent podcasts, and an incredible, dedicated fanbase, whose enthusiasm for what Rusty Quill has created over the years is unparalleled.

As we launch our season of celebrations, we just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone here on Patreon. Your support is one of the reasons we want to take this opportunity to mark this milestone beyond a footnote in a newsletter.

We’ve created a hub for all things RQ 10 in its own website, where you can read a bit about the history of the company, find out about all of our Original and Network shows, see what events we have planned and read blogs and articles that we’ll be sharing over the next few months. As for events, we have plenty of things planned – including, of course, our Magnus Live theatre shows in October.

Join us on Saturday 28th June 2025 for a very special birthday live stream, hosted on our Twitch channel. You can expect a celebration of everything Rusty Quill, some special guests, and of course lots of fun and games. We’ll share more information on this closer to the time, so watch this space.

Not only that, but we are hosting an exclusive live event on Thursday 17th July 2025 at The Lowry, in Manchester UK. Join creators of The Magnus Archives and The Magnus Protocol, Alexander J Newall and Jonathan Sims, as they explore the mysteries and intrigues lurking within the Archives, live on stage. The event, Statement Begins, offers you the chance to relive your favourite statements, performed live by their original voice actors and gain exclusive insights into the creation of the show. The tickets will be going live on Friday 21st March 2025 at 10am GMT – we’ll provide you with a link soon. Ticket prices start at £23, with a VIP tier available for an additional £30 as a bolt-on.
