Split Feeds and Spotify Awards

Hi folks,

To begin with, we’re very pleased to say that you can now find separate ad-free RSS feeds for all of our shows here on Patreon – thank you so much for your patience while we got everything organised.

In case you missed our update last week, we have been given early access to a brand new “multiple shows feature”. Ideal for anyone who wants to binge listen to our older shows, or prefers to listen on a podcast player instead of Patreon, this new feature allows us to organise our episodes into different feeds and shows, rather than lumping everything into one very long feed.

From today, you can find a full list of shows by either:

For more information, take a look at this article from Patreon.

If you were previously subscribed to the “Rusty Quill Early Access Patreon Feed”, this will now be renamed “The Magnus Protocol – Ad-Free and Early Access Patreon Feed” and now only contains episodes from The Magnus Protocol.

While the bulk of the changes have been made, you may notice season and episode information being added over the next few weeks.

If you’re having any issues using the new feeds, please first try deleting and re-adding the feed to your device. If the problem persists, send us a DM or email screenshots of your problem to mail@rustyquill.com and we can work with Patreon to resolve them.

This update could not be better timed, with The Magnus Protocol returning next week! The wait is nearly over, with the first episode of season 2 will be available in early access on Tuesday 25th February at 4pm GMT, with the public releasing on Thursday 27th February. If you have not yet listened to the trailer, you can find it here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/magnus-protocol-121916511

For Nobles and Kickstarter backers, this week we have the final The Magnus Protocol season 1 fancast! This time, we’ll be listening to MAGP 27 – Driven and MAGP 30 – Dead End Job with host Lowri, Billie Hindle and Anusia Battersby. They’ll be listening to the episodes, answering questions from chat and, if previous fancasts are anything to go by, going on tangents about Baldur’s Gate 3! The stream will be on YouTube on Wednesday 19th February at 6pm GMT – we’ll be sharing the link to Nobles closer to the time. A massive thank you to everyone who has joined us for these Fancast streams – they have been such a fun way to revisit the first season, find out some behind-the-scenes info and get to know the cast a little better!

As well as Patreon’s multiple show update, we had a very exciting week last week! Firstly, you may remember that The Magnus Archives was recently awarded Spotify’s Bronze Creator Award, given to shows that have more than 100 million streams on Spotify. The Magnus Archives is one of only a small handful of UK-shows, and one of the only audio dramas, to have this achievement. Spotify invited us to collect the award in person from their office in London, and we sent Marketing Manager, Hattie, Network Liaison, Tom, and Event Manager, Jess, to pick it up and chat with the Spotify team.

(Image description: Two photos side by side. On the left: three people, Hattie, Tom, and Jess, behind a large white Spotify logo sign. Tom (middle) is holding a large black and bronze award. On the right: A close up the Spotify award, which is shaped like a speech bubble. It is made of a black material, with a bronze-coloured Spotify logo in the centre. White text on the award reads: 100 million streams, The Magnus Archives).

You can read a bit more about the award in our press release, which has been shared by Podnews.

Monte Cook’s expansion to The Magnus Archives Roleplaying Game also launched last week and we have been blown away by the response so far. The campaign fully funded within minutes of launching, and is now close to having raised six times the goal. The current stretch goal is within sight – sign-up now and help get a digital art pack, including wallpapers and images for players. Find out more about this stretch goal, and back the campaign here: https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/monte-cook-games/the-magnus-archives-rpg-tangled-in-the-web/updates/17553

Finally, today on the Magnus feed we’re sharing a feed drop from one of our amazing RQ Network shows. Wake of Corrosion is a UK-based Eldritch Horror-inspired audio drama set in a nightmare ridden, apocalyptic world.

An unknown horror grips the country, forcing most of the remaining population into shelter. Tune into the broadcasts from Bunker A:12 and join Professor Ryan as he endeavours to find answers in the wreckage.

His only lead? The journal entries and personal recordings left behind by brothers, Elliot and Roman, who were there when it all began…

You can listen to the first episode now on the Magnus feed, or find every episode on the Wake of Corrosion feed wherever you find podcasts, on the Rusty Quill website or on Wake of Corrosion’s website.

Have a good week all!

The Rusty Quill team

Beautiful work, guys! And- honestly, looking forward to more BG3 yapping, it's one of my favorite parts at this point (and all of the unintended interruptions, RIP Lowri! o7 Haha)

Loveee this feature, so nice to see everything organized! Archives being separate from Protocol will definitely make relistening easier. Just in time for me to start listening to other RQ stuff ad-free. Also congratsss on the award!!

I’m so excited by this! I was very confused when I opened RQG 179 this morning and got the logo and name for protocol. This is the best reason!

Very happy to have split feeds! I had been using siftrss.com as a way to make DIY feeds for each show, but having it native is perfect. So far it's all working great, no issues.

This is such a nice feature. Trying to find the shows I want to catch up on in a single feed for all of them has been a real pain point. Also, I can finally listen to the Magnus Archives without ads. Thanks for setting that up.

Jamie O'Duibhir

thank you all dearly with the work and congratulations on awards, kickstarter, and all other good things deserved 🫶
