Weekly Update: Getting that oh-so-needed momentum for Indieween

Quick Update about the last of the Aprons
so as things would shake out, looks like they're going out this Saturday. They are all literally pressed, packaged, and ready to go save for me just needing to print the shipping labels on them. I'm probably gong to get that done today after writing this post (yesterday for all of you) meaning that by the time you all read this they'll be ready to go; it'll just be the matter of finding tome to go and drop them off.
Now onto Indieween:
So here's where we're at right now with indieween:

This might just be out of date by the time you see it as I'm probably gonna finish editing the brush burial video by the afternoon today (but I might just come back and edit this). I've only got a couple games left to paly and the majority of the videos are at some stage of completion.
The goal for this week is to finsh the Heartworm video and then wither Felvidek or Tower of Kalemonvo depending on how deep I can get into ToK's endgame. I've been moving a lot faster than I've been able to in the past thanks to many things. For one, Most of these videos are around 20 minutes instead of 30-45+ minutes since most of these are small indies for indieween. For another I'm putting a lot of techniques I've been trying and refining over this year that are really starting to pay off. Things like:
Recording in front of a camera so that I always have B-roll and can generally record faster. It's a lot easier to keep your recording momentum and power through bad takes with the camera vs just talking into a microphone)
I always organize my footage by having recordings split into 10 minute clips which I label with keywords, but now I wait to label them until after I've done the final script and recording so that I know what I should be looking for when tagging clips. This saves an INSANE amount of time by cutting down how much time I spend scrubbing through my clips.
I now do the end credits for a video much earlier into the production process. Once I have all the audio stuff sorted I write the credits and download the patron list, put the cat video and graphics into a separate sequence, encode that, and then just put that clip at the very end instead of having the graphics in the main project. This saves a lot of encoding time, especially if I ever need to go back and redo something.
I invested in getting a new, larger SSD that now allows me to set up proxy files for an entire project. I'll usually get everything set up and imported the night before, tell adobe to make all my proxies and then go watch shows with Dr Latann, and then come back in the morning to all my proxies good to go. Lag reduction isn't just for speed running, being able to edit in real with with literally no loading for clips saves hours.
I also saw that those cute little background music clips I see and sometimes use on YouTube made a study aid thingy on steam and I picked it up. It's been really helpful for me not just for video work but general productivity

(The gull game is called "Ithya: Magic Studies" and it's certainly worth the 11 bucks I went in on it.)
I feel pretty good about the improvements I've made to my video making technique this year but the real test is this Indieween: I've got now 4 weeks to finish 7 (okay 6 since Brush Burial is basically done) videos, and I think I can do it.
That's all for now, Stay Saucy
