New years update and new Q&A!

Thanks as always for supporting what I do here - I think I’ll reflect on my 2022 videos mostly as a year of “me videos.” I got to make a 30 minute video about DRIV3R, I got to speak with the guy who made that Queen game, I discovered how great the Ghost in the Shell PS2 game is, and how great Mercenaries is, and I even got to dig into those Mike Oldfield games. I’m very thankful to be supported here even when I’m not making massive crowd pleasers! And I think I needed a year like this. 2022 as a whole feels like a bit of a post-pandemic, post-lockdown recovery year - and to be able to deep dive these passion projects was a delight that I think I needed.

So entering 2023 I feel refreshed. Call it naive new years optimism, but there’s a sense of being back on track. I’m overflowing with ideas, and I like to think I’ve developed a healthier relationship with the content mill. So here’s to 2023!

Here’s a little overview of my 2023 plans:

• Make a few more crowd pleasers! Now that a good handful of passion projects are out of my system I feel I’m drawn towards talking about more popular topics again. Stuff like 007, Sims, Driver, Hot Wheels (still coming!), Skateboarding games, movie games - looking to dive back into all this stuff and just have fun with it
• I want to try and make my 2nd channel more of a real thing rather than pure shitposting. I mentioned this in my last Q&A, but I think uploading unscripted chatty videos there will be fun and a way to cover topics that are maybe a bit more simple or way outside of the usual main channel content. Just light stuff like playthroughs, or tier lists, or rambly thoughts on video games. It’ll be a nice way to touch base in a similar way to the old reliving videos
• Getting on camera again! I bought some basic studio lights and a nice camera, and there’s a lot of gaming hardware oddities I want to dig around with for videos, so I’m going to show up more in person and show this stuff off and develop all my skills around that side of things. I feel I’ve gotten quite comfortable doing voice/script work, and this is a good way to throw myself into the deep end and learn the ropes around video, lighting and natural delivery
• Podcasting - lots of ideas floating around in this space and almost ready to pull the trigger on one. I’m known to overpromise and underdeliver so I’ll stop myself from saying any more haha
