Monthly Blog #7 - September 2019

Hello everyone!

It's been over 6 months of Patreon! That's pretty dope. Welcome to all the new Patrons :) I have some old Q&A's and videos reacting to my old stuff on here that you might like to check out.

Thoughts on the channel and it's future
September saw the Sopranos, Planes and Iron Man videos release, and reflecting on those I feel like I spent a month writing about games that are just not particularly good. It was a change and a challenge for me, and I feel like I learnt a lot about my own writing style through it and have places to self improve, but I definitely prefer sticking to games that I genuinely really like and I will return to doing that.

I've been thinking a lot about places to take my channel. You may have noticed I've been dabbling more in getting in touch with developers and acting like a games journalist with videos like Quantum and God of War Betrayal - and I think I'd like to lean heavier into that with future videos. I want to add more value to them than just "aussie dude shares his opinion of game" while still maintaining my style and my love for interesting and obscure games

I'd also like to branch out into new video formats and ideas. I actually sat down the other day with a notepad and did some oldschool mind-map/brainstorm thing with all my ideas and now I feel much more comfortable with some of them and much more excited by them. Any thoughts on the future of minimme would be appreciated in the comments or via Patron DM or anywhere :)

Personal life stuff
I'm finally moving place this weekend and I'm super excited. I'll have my own office with somewhat of a view and a more permanent setup with better acoustics! This means potentially streaming and an easier recording setup for me. I also might have a new camera on the way if all things work out - finally we'll upgrade beyond a webcam or a phone lol

I'm also going to Singapore for 8 days next week as a getaway with a friend, which I'm really looking forward to. As soon as I move place I leave the country which is poorly timed and pretty stressful, but otherwise I think that it'll be a nice refresher. I can't think of a better way to unwind mentally than a holiday like that.
