Overanalyzing Avatar: The Puppetmaster (At least it should work for everyone version)

Alright, so it seems like a lot of people had problems viewing the episode on google drive, so we're back on bitchute for now. Crunchy audio and all. This way at least everyone can see it.

I agree labeling those trying to explain this as sexist is more disgusting as it defeats the point of any discussion

I like that you included the entire video for Nightmares and Daydreams at the very end there. It really doesn’t need anymore analyzing besides “Fuck”

Hope I don't get hate for this. I truly do believe in gender equality, but one big reason women didn't partake in frontline warfare had a lot to do with population scarcity. It's a lot more punishing for women to get injured as damage to their reproductive systems could easily make them unable to carry a child to term (Something men don't have to worry about as much for obvious reasons). This is further exacerbated by poor medical technology/high infant mortality rate back then. With that said, it's still silly to ban women from all forms of combative bending, as it still makes for great self-defense against invasions during wartime.

My fav author Brandon Sanderson once said that you want people to put together the secret right before you reveal it. If they guess it ahead of time it’s awesome and if they reveal makes everything click that’s also awesome. I agree they did so well with this episode and it’s truly unique in its style. On another thing with Katara, I wish we had an episode for her to wrestle with blood bending. I know we have the one she’s so angry she uses it but just like showing Aang’s fear of the avatar state, I think it would have been cool to see how having that ability affected her more.

I really like that for the whole series, water bending has been seen as a source of healing and life (Even Jeong Jeong says this). Then this episode gives a whole new feel to water bending, just like the Fire Bending masters gives a whole new feel to fire bending. Water doesn't automatically equate to life, and fire doesn't always equate to destruction. Really nice parallels

It's an Earthbending Move. If you watch closely to see Katara and Zuko use other forms of bending in combat

IME both of these sites have a bad tendency to hang for no reason, even on my PC, and even on gigabit fiber. Both of them also still employ their own versions of contentID automated copyright detection, and in many ways their systems are far less sophisticated than Youtube's. Which, this may SOUND like a good thing in theory, but in practice they are just much more likely to false-positive an upload to be on the safe side because both of these sites either are themselves or are owned by large enough companies to make copyright infringement lawsuits lucrative (DailyMotion is Vivendi, Vimeo is it's own thing but they have real money to chase) but not nearly as huge as YouTube and so they probably don't have a lot of the same sorts of deals to lax a bit on copyright in exchange for YouTube providing massive amounts of exposure to IP owners. Bitchute, on the other hand, is explicitly anti-censorship and intentionally does the absolute bare minimum required to not get shut down by copyright and other section 230 exception type suits. They are also much smaller and fly more under the radar than either of the other two. I think it also helps that the site being seen as being specifically set up to host right wing extremist and conspiracy theory content means that companies don't really want to even deal with them, if they can help it. I don't think they have any sort of automated copyright detection at all, so any company that wanted to file DMCA takedowns would have to do everything manually, which also makes it harder to just issue indiscriminate blanket DMCA takedowns because then they are much more vulnerable to being countersued for violating provisions in the DMCA that say that if someone tries to abuse DMCA to silence critics or otherwise infringe on someone else's copyright then that constitutes perjury, and they can absolutely be countersued not just for for compensatory damages (IE what they actually cost you) but also punitive damages (basically a "fuck you" fee reserved for assholes as punishment for abusing the civil courts to harass, or intimidate people with frivolous lawsuits.). TL;DR: Bitchute has way looser copyright enforcement and their website, IME, just works a lot better.

A lot of people have a problem with Katara being able to use bloodbending right away, but I have no issue with it at all. All she is doing is using waterbending, it just happens to be in a different form that she’s used to. Once she knows she can control it, I don’t see why she wouldn’t be able to just do it. Especially since she’s not doing intricate movements, all she did in this episode and in the next instance of blood bending is stop the opponent and bringing them down.

"I don't even remember who that looks like." Might be the most fucking savage line you've said so far in this entire series.

This is honestly one of my favorite episodes. I always intepreted "my bending is more powerful than yours" as "I'm a better waterbender than you are" though idk. Like "my driving is better than yours". Even then though it's phrased a little odd. I also really like the part where Katara blocks Hama's attack and water flies everywhere. I believe Hama's shock comes from the fact that waterbenders are supposed to use fluid motions in their attacks and defensive strategies, letting the attacks blow past them instead of blocking them head-on. But Katara straight up blasts Hama's powerful strike back with a head-on palm slap and without any effort too, signaling that she is indeed a more powerful bender.

I always thought the "My bending is more powerful" moment was in reference to two benders bending the same material. I assumed Katara was bending her own blood to stop Hamas control which also lead to her getting a feel for blood bending before using it on hama.

The audios not bad in this one.

Have you tried Vimeo or Dailymotion? I don't know if it's getting claimed there too or what but seems much more ideal from my perspective Some other patreon creators I follow upload their copywrite claimed stuff to Vimeo without issue

Perfect episode for the Halloween special
