If you use pure oil from the start, how can you follow the rule of "fat on lean" later?

2023-10-13 12:59:43 +0000 UTCI use a little bit of Spectra Fix to fix the drawing- and usually I use the same brushes throughout- just cleaned with a bit of linseed oil.

2022-01-09 07:26:28 +0000 UTCThe oil paints themselves, as far as I am aware, do not have any significant off gassing. Really it is just linseed oil oxidizing. I would reccommend you to be careful about secondary contamination like paint on your clothing getting in to the washing machine for instance- or from your hands to the doorknobs in the house.

Can you recommend what kind of ventilation we need for just working with the paints? I'm painting in a spare bedroom that has just one small window and don't want to cause health problems for myself or my family. Thanks!
