2021-06-13 11:04:57 +0000 UTCBeautifully executed composition! Something I never really considered in portrait painting--you seem to use atmospheric perspective like a landscape painter. From my limited understanding, a good landscape painting has multiple levels or tiers of depth, seeming to move the viewers eye from a distant background to a close up foreground. You appear to achieve that same effect, even with a relatively small subject. The hair on the right side (behind the nose and chin) appears more distant than the hair on the left that jumps out at the viewer. Bottom line: this is so life-like I kept waiting for her (the painted version of her) to look up.
