In this video I have taken all of the portions of the tutorial where I am only drawing, not talking, and sped them up 5500x. This means that the entire video is about 30 minutes rather than 3.5 hours. In this way I hope to make the information in these tutorials more accessible.
Happy to help, Kelley!

Stephen, it would be fantastic if will a book! It would be wonderful to have access to your thoughts on the drawing and painting process by reading your ideas.

🙌 speechless Stephen. Just so much gratitude for the exceptional knowledge and dissemination. Your pedagogical approach is much appreciated. All this while I’ve had to learn from multiple sources, being a peculiar learner (OCD, Type A or just perfectionist that slows me down and paralyses me) but your lessons are just PERFECT (no pressure 😀). There’s enough visual, auditory, and kinesthetic opportunity. I’ve been devouring books by Hale and Speed and the likes but you supersede all 🙌🙏🏻. The bite sized approach with such incredible explanations are perfect. Need to go work work work now. Thank you.

Brilliant. I've been waiting for this all my life. I have had years, decades, of figure drawing, but never learned anything beyond the initial linear stage. I had guessed at the rationale behind the look you get from classical figure drawings — e.g., the accentuated core shadow and the exaggerated lightness in the shadow — but your explanation of *why* you create what tones where and when makes all the difference. You really can't do it right until you understand why. At long last, thank you.
