An important reminder regarding save data
Added 2020-11-07 16:03:25 +0000 UTCWith the release of version 3.1.1, It has been brought to my attention by many players that they keep getting a loading error at certain points when trying to play using previous save file. I had brought this issue up in earlier updates, but I absolutely need to stress that as this is a game in progress, save file compatibility issues WILL occur when you try and load up a save made in a previous version. That is especially true with this recent version since there were so many things I changed and added under the hood.
I understand that this is frustrating for many players. I know that it just doesn't feel the same to have to use a save file that doesn't belong to you just to see the new content. I do what I can to ease the process of starting from scratch by playing through the game myself and providing you all with checkpoints to view the new content. It is the least I can do for this annoying inconvenience. However, in order to grow this game and make it something even better, changes are inevitable.
This game is a work in progress and I want everyone who plays the game in it's current form to know that going in. I have players who've told me that they have recorded over 20 hours (!!) in the game so far! To me, this is incredible to hear and I feel honored that there are those who enjoy my game so much to play it for so long. I just want all players to know this: Your saves are not guaranteed to work in future updates. This is how the game has always been, but with more new players discovering the game, I feel that I need to make this fact clear. I appreciate all of your support for the game, but please keep this statement in mind if you are a returning player.
Thank you.

That’s much appreciated.

2020-11-07 20:07:47 +0000 UTCyeah, savegame incompatibility is a completely normal thing for a game thats still deep in development. Nothing to be done about it, absolutely to be expected. Personally i just replay the entire thing every major patch, mostly so i can find Bugs and evaluate the current Game Balance.

2020-11-07 20:05:33 +0000 UTCAlthough loss of some saves can be a little upsetting, I for one am thankful that each update usually includes preset saves for certain parts of the game. Plus one thing that's enjoyable about this game is it replaybuility. "What can I do better this time?" "How do I get this interaction/ending?" Ect. Although I am curious if I'm not the only one who had done saves before interactions where you could "submit" in dialog before a "boss fight". I'm also wondering if there will be a few "secrets" we could come across. Such as items, areas, & easter eggs. One I could see is possibly a Bloodrayne or Castilvania reference.
