Hmmmm... Potential...?

So, kind of unrelated to Crimson Veil, I’m currently playing through Dragon Quest XI S on my Switch. Absolutely FANTASTIC game. I have a big grin on my face each time I play it. The game is just so charming and fun. Some of my design philosophy when creating maps and NPCs in CV is inspired by the older DQ games I’ve played in the past. However, I have just reached a point in the game that is... particularly inspirational... SPOILERS AHEAD!

So, I had reached a point in the game where you have been completely separated from each of your party members for what has apparently been months, while you lay unconscious. Your goal is to travel the world from square one and gather them up again, one by one.

One of the best fighters in your party, happens to be a sexy lady named Jade. She’s the princess of a neighboring kingdom who’s known you since you were a baby. She’s sort of a no-nonsense, stoic martial artist.... That is until you reunite with her...

She got corrupted and turned into a monster during the months you were out. She belongs to a demon who runs a casino, who changed her into a monster and also his servant. She tries to defeat you with the dark powers she’s been given, while attempting to enthrall you and turn you against your allies. This part was just...so well done.

Unfortunately, since this isn’t a hentai rpg, there is no bad ending to be found lol. However, although you do eventually free her from the demon and she returns to her “human form”, she still can change into this “corrupted form” of hers during battle and you can even keep the bunny suit. My head-canon is that she is still a monster, who must now assume a human form.

When I posted the first version of Crimson Veil back in March, in the Mor Town tavern there happened to be a bunny girl who gave you a bit of gold for speaking to her. I never did anything with her... I think I may have gotten a pretty big spark of inspiration from this scene! Expect to see a scene related to this in the future!
