Alma is a story that shows the first awakened and how they came to be. It's set in the first rendition on a planet that has already experienced the alpha protocol. The prologue will go through a bit of a change, but otherwise the story is at a pretty solid start plot-wise. I already figured out a bunch of stuff last night, to include how the soul will awaken, the family dynamic, a few of the chapters loosely outlined, but I'm still working on the ending. Without first designing the ending, I'm not sure where I'm going. I'm hoping to have the end figured out by today so I can go into writing sprint mode.
What does this mean for Creation?
Creation will be put on hold until Alma is done in its entirety. I'm planning on making the book about 60k words long and ending it there. It means less of a buildup in story, and more of a sprint. It doesn't take long for great conflict to affect our MC in this. I already have the next 6 Creation chapters plotted, and it should be easy for me to slip back into that mode once this is done.
It's just...I've always wanted to do the writathon and I'm sure I can nail it. It'll be an interesting challenge and an easy way to lose followers, but it is what it is.
For those of you who signed up purely for the Creation storyline, I apologize. I didn't think this want or need would hit me so hard and so fast. I saw the writathon pop up yesterday and it kind of glued itself to my brain. I hope this doesn't make you think too harshly of me.
If you have any ideas for what specifically you'd like to see in the story, the plot is currently being planned, so now would be a good time. Thank you for your support, and hopefully you enjoy the story. I'll be posting the chapters here the day prior to posting them on RR. I expect to start out at 3 chapters a week as they'll inherently be shorter and faster, once I'm on a roll I'll step it up.
Hope you all had a nice holiday.
p.s. the book cover art is already made.
